Breakups happen everyday for countless reasons, and every so often, that includes the couple that actually belongs together. Marshall and Lily from the sitcom How I Met Your Mother (2005-2014) are a perfect example. Many fans were shocked when they broke up at the end of season one. But only a few episodes into the second season, they got back together. So why did their breakup have to happen?
